Christchurch Earthquake - Impact on Service

A number of roads are affected by significant damage, liquefaction, flooding, damaged retaining walls and rockfall.

We will endeavour to carry out business as usual dependent on the safety of our couriers, access to roads and buildings, and continued traffic disruption.

Day runs continue to operate as normal to all regular destinations including Dunedin, Oamaru, Timaru, Ashburton, Kaikoura, Greymouth and Hokitika. All overnight nationwide delivery services continue to operate as normal.

Cordons in the central city, damage to suburbs in the east of Christchurch and business closures have limited our ability to deliver in some areas (where access is feasible, we are delivering). We expect that there will be areas where service levels will be impacted for a protracted period.

Before sending any freight to areas in Christchurch that have been directly affected by the earthquake, we ask that you confirm that the receiving business is in a position to accept delivery.

REDIRECTING FREIGHT AND MAIL LINK SERVICES

Christchurch businesses who are unable to accept freight and require a temporary redirection of all deliveries, please email CHCredirects@nzcouriers.co.nz stating your business name and usual pick up/delivery premises, followed by new pick up/delivery premises (if possible, please also include:- account number; any changes in billing address and changes in phone numbers). Please could you also indicate if a timeframe for the redirection is known.

If you have moved premises either temporarily or permanently and would be interested in the Mail Link Services we can provide for the clearance, delivery and pick up of postal mail, please call our sales office on 03 341 4402.

If you currently receive mail link services from us and you are operating from a different premise, your times may have changed as a result. Please call us if you would like to discuss your mail times further.
