Completing International Paperwork

Sending items internationally involves completing some additional paperwork.

Documentation

You will need to complete a consignment note for every item and a customs declaration for non documents.

Consignment Notes

All International items require an original consignment note

Non-document items require a customs declaration and a consignment note

Consignment notes are free from your local branch

The bill or charge to your account will itemise the weight, destination and consignment type

If you send items overseas regularly you can order pre printed consignment notes

Completing a Consignment Note
  1. Write your account number and address.
  2. Write the physical address of the person you're sending this to.
    (NB: We cannot deliver to PO Box numbers)
  3. For customs purposes write an accurate description of what you are sending.
  4. Select the service you require.

Customs Declaration Form

A customs declaration form MUST be completed for any non-document item

A value must be provided for customs purposes regardless if the shipment has no commercial value

Completing a Customs Declaration
  1. Receiver's full details including a contact name
  2. Record the consignment note number and the number of packages you are sending
  3. Full description of the goods - note: "sample" or "gift" is not acceptable
  4. Export Tariff Code (only required for shipments valued $1000 or over)
  5. The customs' Client Code (only required for shipments valued $1000 or over)
  6. Number of items enclosed
  7. Unit value of each piece
  8. Total value by product (i.e. number of items x unit value)
  9. Total invoice value of all items. Even if your consignment has no commercial
    value (NCV), its actual value must be stated
  10. State the country from which goods originated (i.e. where they were manufactured)
  11. Reason for export (e.g. sale, repair, gift)
  12. Write your name and position in the company, and then sign
